Week 10

Colette is 2 months!!!! She got her first vaccination shots this week and handled it like a champ!! I timed it right after her feeding. She cried for a few seconds after the shot and right afterwards passed out in her carseat.
I love my little champ!

Milestones

We heard her first laugh!!! She’s also smiling more socially with people. She lifted her head during tummy time for a good 10 seconds or so! So proud of our baby! Still waiting for her to reach and grab for toys – haven’t seen her do that just yet, though being interested in hanging toys seems like a good step. Her arms wander around but I don’t think they are reaching quite yet. She is talking so much! Not just short sounds, but longer and elongated sounds in a row! Especially when she wakes up in the morning and even when she’s nursing – it’s almost like she can’t get enough of talking now that she’s discovering it.

Naps
So I researched about short naps: one easy suggestion to try to fix it is to cut back on wake time as that seems to be a common contributor to short naps. So I tried that for Tuesday and Wednesday, and it seems to be working well! She is sleeping 1.5 to 2 hours. She had maybe 1-2 sessions where she woke up at the 45 minute mark and stirred quietly and went back to sleep. Thereafter I gave her that extra time to sleep resulting in a 3.5 hour cycle.

Feeding
I am trying to prepare her to drop the late night feeding by pushing her day time cycle to 3.5 hours and pushing late night/dream feed earlier in increments (in hopes to merge it)

Milestones

She is talking so much! Not just short sounds, but longer and elongated sounds in a row! Especially when she wakes up in the morning and even when she’s nursing – almost like she can’t get enough of talking now that she’s discovering it. She will consistently poke her head up while nursing to have a conversation. It is SO hard not to smile back because I know once I engage her, eating goes out the window. Oh our little social butterfly 😉
Summary
No changes in schedule yet from last week.
